About the position

The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of construction projects within a rapidly growing Construction Management firm. This position involves collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure that all engineering elements are effectively planned, designed, and executed, contributing to the successful completion of significant commercial and multi-family projects in Indiana and Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to define project objectives and scope, and perform feasibility studies.
  • Review and interpret project blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
  • Interact with subcontractors, providing clear instructions and monitoring their work for quality and adherence to time schedules.
  • Manage ASI (Architect's Supplemental Instructions) to ensure all changes in the work are properly documented and executed.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions if needed.
  • Ensure the project's compliance with all relevant legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Construction Management or related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of design and visualizations software.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Project management and supervision skills.
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Proven experience managing ASI and working with subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
