The Project Engineer at HWH - GC plays a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects. The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring that all activities are planned, directed, and coordinated effectively. The primary goal is to meet the project objectives in a timely, safe, and budget-conscious manner. In this role, the Project Engineer will be responsible for implementing project work plans and making necessary revisions to adapt to changing project needs. This includes coordinating project schedules, managing submittals, reviewing scopes, and overseeing subcontractor activities. A thorough understanding of contract plans and specifications is essential, as the Project Engineer will need to identify and resolve potential conflicts within the plans. Additionally, the role involves organizing and performing buy-out processes and conducting regular schedule reviews to ensure project milestones are met. Effective communication is key in this position, as the Project Engineer will liaise with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to address work procedures, complaints, and construction-related issues. The ability to maintain professional relationships and facilitate discussions is critical for the smooth operation of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing project work plans and revising them as necessary with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate project schedules and manage submittals.
  • Review scopes and oversee subcontractor activities.
  • Understand contract plans and specifications, documenting procedures, and resolving potential conflicts.
  • Organize and perform buy-out processes and conduct day-to-day schedule reviews.
  • Communicate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures and construction problems.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand and interpret contract plans and specifications.
