About the position

The Construction Project Manager will oversee the design and construction of various capital projects for Salt Lake County. This role is essential in managing multiple projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to achieve project goals. Responsibilities

• Manage the design and construction of multiple large and small capital projects.
• Direct and coordinate the planning, design, and construction of capital renewal, replacement, and development projects.
• Develop and implement work plans and programs for projects.
• Hire and supervise consultants and consultant teams for project design and construction documentation.
• Obtain necessary approvals and permits from regulatory agencies for construction projects.
• Manage the bidding process for construction projects.
• Ensure contractors comply with contract specifications and quality assurance standards.
• Administer and manage the construction process throughout the project duration.
• Establish procedures, budgets, and priorities for projects, overseeing progress and resource allocation.
• Assist County agencies in preparing funding requests for capital projects.
• Monitor and control budgets and schedules for all assigned projects.
• Maintain records of important project documents and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Three years of experience in construction management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license accepted by the State of Utah.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with project budgeting and construction cost estimating.
• Knowledge of construction delivery methods and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
