RC Executives, a leader in Construction Staffing for Florida, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for a prominent $275 million Commercial Construction Company based in Fort Myers, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial construction project management, particularly with general contractors, and must be a motivated self-starter with at least 5 years of successful experience in senior project management roles. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and supervising a wide range of construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and procedures, as well as the ability to coordinate a diverse team of professionals to achieve optimal results. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specified requirements. You will need to possess strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively manage resources and timelines. In this position, you will collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications, negotiate contracts with external vendors, and obtain necessary permits and licenses. You will also be responsible for determining the resources needed for each project phase, planning construction operations, acquiring materials and equipment, hiring contractors, supervising laborers, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Regular progress evaluations and detailed reporting will be essential to keep all parties informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
- Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
- Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
- Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, etc. and give them guidance when needed
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Requirements
- Proven experience as a construction project manager
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with construction/project management software
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
- 5 years as Senior Project Manager in Commercial Construction
