About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for complete oversight of assigned projects and contracts from initial inspection until final clearance, for demolition, new construction, rehabilitation, hazards, healthy homes and lead abatement. Assignments are carried out in accordance with general written and/or oral work instructions. Federal, State and Local requirements and/or established occupational practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required & continuing education including a Bachelor's degree or (3) years or more of experience in the construction field
  • Equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Certification as a licensed Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Lead Supervisor and/or Lead Project Designer and Lead Risk Assessor preferred at hiring or within (6) months of employment
  • Certification of completion of the Essentials for Healthy Homes Practitioners Course either upon hire or within (6) months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Prepares specifications and in-house cost estimates for assigned projects and arranges for public bidding
  • Maintains all records required by Federal, State and Local regulations concerning public bidding
  • Advises property owners on steps required to bring the property into compliance
  • Inspects work in progress to determine compliance with specifications and to ascertain completed work and invoicing
  • Acts as liaison with public and privately-owned utilities and contractors to schedule and coordinate activities in the affected areas
  • Acts as a mediator in property owner/contractor disputes
  • Performs inspections, lead risk assessments, to identify hazards, prepares reports, enforces compliance and performs clearance testing for lead abatement
  • Performs other related work as assigned
