About the position

Siemens, a global powerhouse in electrical and electronic engineering, is seeking a seasoned Construction Sales Engineer specializing in Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchgear. This position is primarily focused on the greater northeastern Ohio area, particularly Toledo, and may extend to the greater Detroit area. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and supporting distributors and electrical contractor opportunities, with a strong emphasis on achieving project success through the construction channel. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing market presence and providing channel support in the Memphis market to drive share growth. You will fully utilize Salesforce as a tool to develop and forecast contractor opportunities, ensuring that you are well-equipped to support a range of products including panelboards, switchboards, medium voltage gear, lighting panels, low voltage switchgear, busway, motor control centers, molded case circuit breakers, IEC/NEMA control, safety switches, and residential products. Your responsibilities will also include building and maintaining a comprehensive business plan that cultivates a healthy sales pipeline by uncovering new opportunities, following up on leads, and managing an existing customer base. You will develop and implement strategic account plans that exceed expectations in revenue retention and growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will assist in cultivating long-term relationships with key account decision-makers and develop a complete understanding of the organizational structure and key buying influences of assigned accounts. Client presentations will be a key part of your role, where you will articulate the value proposition of Siemens products. Building long-term relationships with senior management at key customer accounts, solution partners, and channel partners will be essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering is strongly desired; a combination of education and directly related work experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of sales experience within the manufacturing/construction industry.
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time.
  • Valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS in Business or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in selling to local electrical contractors highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of LV MV power distribution product line.
