About the position

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer with a strong background in Construction Management, specifically in the Medical Products Finished Goods Warehouse sector. This position is based onsite in Houston, Texas, and is a contract role expected to last for 12 to 18 months, with the possibility of extension. The project involves the buildout of an existing structure that will serve as a Regional Distribution Center for Renal solution products. The construction phase is anticipated to commence in September 2024 and conclude by March 2025. The Industrial Engineer will be required to be present full-time at the job site during the buildout phase, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to the development and updating of the Project Execution Plan and Project Procedures. They will also be involved in the review and approval of User Requirements, Construction Drawings, and Specifications, as well as managing Construction Permits and Safety Programs. The role requires the integration of Facilities/Utilities and Process Equipment Installation Schedules, along with the preparation of construction quality documents, red line documentation, and change control documents. Additionally, the Industrial Engineer will oversee the creation of Construction Turnover Packages, HSE Management, Quality Management, and provide assistance with Mechanical Completion and Turnover, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning Documentation. Effective schedule management is crucial, as the Industrial Engineer will be responsible for coordinating project schedule milestones and liaising with the design office for field queries and inspection visits. This role demands a proactive approach to ensure that all project deliverables are met on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Products Finished Goods Warehouse Construction Management or related experience.
  • Experience with warehouse processes automation technologies is desired.
  • Proven track record of managing construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret Construction Plans and Specifications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
