About the position

The Construction Survey Manager at PCL Construction is responsible for overseeing and managing construction surveying standards and practices within the Civil Infrastructure office. This role involves providing onsite training for new engineers, managing reality capture tools, and ensuring adherence to the latest construction layout standards. The position is based in Tempe, AZ, with expectations for monthly overnight trips to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage the district's construction surveying standards and practices.
• Develop and provide in-person training for new and existing projects.
• Review and monitor adherence to construction layouts and standards.
• Oversee the use of onsite reality capture tools such as laser scanning and aerial surveying via drones.
• Collaborate with the virtual design and construction group to utilize capture data effectively.
• Ensure construction surveying and layout conform to the latest standards and technological advancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of progressive construction experience with a focus on construction surveying and layout.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture and applying health, safety, and environment principles.
• In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including building materials, specifications, methods, and safety management practices.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills to manage multiple projects and schedules.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and surveying/design software for data collection, GIS mapping, CAD drafting, and BIM modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous water infrastructure experience is strongly preferred.
