About the position

The Technical Analyst role at Pete Fowler Construction Services, Inc. involves assisting Technical Consultants and Experts in developing efficient and cost-effective solutions to construction-related issues. The position requires strong communication skills, a desire for professional growth, and the ability to analyze complex construction documents and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Attend site investigations to inspect structures and conditions, rigorously documenting findings with photographs, notes, diagrams, and checklists.
  • Prepare inspection summary narratives based on site investigations.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize construction and legal documents, demonstrating a clear understanding of their content.
  • Conduct research on building codes, standards of care, and construction best practices.
  • Utilize PFCS systems to organize analysis in a clear and verifiable manner.
  • Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for projects.
  • Conduct cost analyses and comparisons as needed.
  • Prepare requests for proposals and technical reports for presentation to Technical Consultants and Experts.
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators to ensure reports adhere to PFCS standards.
  • Track billable hours and maintain monthly billing targets.
  • Set and pursue quarterly professional development goals in collaboration with management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of construction experience or a combination of education and field experience.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements for onsite inspections.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and architectural drawings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Building Sciences is preferred.
  • Possession or willingness to obtain architectural or engineering registration, contractor licenses, and/or inspection certifications is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Organizational skills.
  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license.
