About the position

The Construction Trades Training Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality educational experiences in construction trades courses at Isothermal Community College. This role involves teaching both traditional and hybrid classes, developing course materials, and supporting students in achieving their educational and career goals. The position is grant-funded for a period of two years and requires a commitment to the college's mission and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop course outlines and teaching materials for construction trades training.
  • Facilitate the delivery of courses in the Building Construction program each academic year.
  • Instruct a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid classes, including evening and weekend classes.
  • Provide input on the Building Construction equipment and supply budget.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Isothermal Community College and the Building Construction Technology program.
  • Recruit and manage the construction trades training academy.
  • Assist and consult with the Dean as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years work experience in the construction industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 Hour OSHA card, 1926 OSHA Authorized Instructor, NCCER Basic Construction Skills, NCCER instruction certification.
  • Equipment Certifications (Excavation, Forklift, Scissor Lift).
  • Associate's degree in construction or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
