About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team at Construction X Inc. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial data and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with experience in managing financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, including journal entries and account analysis.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all accounts are properly accounted for.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Utilize accounting software such as Sage or Xero for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
• Perform technical accounting tasks as needed to support the finance team.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or Xero is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus.
• Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
• Ability to perform account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
