About the position

Nemean Solutions, LLC is seeking a Constructive Database Lead (Database Manager) to join our team at the Global Simulation Capability, National Simulation Center, located in Fort Leavenworth, KS. This position is integral to supporting the National Simulation Center (NSC) Support Operations task order under the MTCCS II IDIQ. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of databases that support military training simulations. This role requires a deep understanding of simulation and stimulation databases, as well as the ability to provide functional and technical subject matter expertise (SME) to meet the requirements of the Military Command Information System (MCIS) and its scenarios. The Constructive Database Lead will oversee the integrity of data for military training simulations by ensuring proper database design and enforcing data restrictions. The candidate will also be tasked with creating new databases and leading a database team, utilizing best practices to ensure effective data storage and long-term preservation. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage, modify, and maintain databases in a high-stakes environment. The contractor will conduct business during the facility's operational hours, which are from 0730 to 1630, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. In the event of a government shutdown or facility closure, alternative work arrangements may be made. The work environment will require adherence to local guidance regarding access, face coverings, and physical distancing as per government directives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of databases for military training simulations.
  • Provide functional and technical SME support to MCIS requirements and scenarios.
  • Ensure the integrity of data for military training simulations by implementing proper database design and enforcing data restrictions.
  • Create new databases and lead a database team using best practices for military training simulations.
  • Manage, modify, and maintain databases in support of military training simulation operations.
  • Develop and maintain strategies for data storage and long-term data preservation.
  • Utilize design methods and guidelines to ensure proper extraction and insertion of data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or discipline.
  • 5 years of experience leading projects or programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • 5 years of experience with simulation and stimulation databases.
  • 5 years of experience providing functional and technical SME support to MCIS requirements and scenarios.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies for data storage and long-term data preservation.
  • Knowledge of design methods and guidelines for data extraction and insertion.
  • Experience managing, modifying, and maintaining databases in support of military training simulations.
  • Experience creating new databases and leading a database team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with military training simulation software and tools.
  • Familiarity with Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) for travel expenses.
  • Understanding of COVID-19 guidelines and protocols in a military environment.
