About the position

Consultation Liaison Psychiatrists at an Allina hospital provide psychiatric care for individuals experiencing complex mental health care needs during their medical admission. The team is closely aligned with the Mental Health & Addiction Clinic Service Line across the Allina Health system. Strong candidates will have an interest in aligning treatment medically and psychiatrically with complex patients, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, and connecting across levels of care. Allina Health's Abbott Northwestern, Mercy and United hospitals are ranked first, third (tie) and third (tie), respectively, in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area in the U.S. News & World Report 2024-25 Best Hospitals ranking today. Abbott Northwestern Hospital is ranked first in the Twin Cities and second in the state for the twelfth consecutive year. Mercy and United hospitals tied for fifth in the state of Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
• Provides psychiatric services to a diverse patient population.
• Develops behaviorally-focused, outcomes-based treatment plans of care that address mental health, functional impairment, and co-occurring addictive or medical disorders.
• Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required.
• Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training required.
• Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required.
• Psychiatric board certification within 2 years of hire upon hire required.
• ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire.
• Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required.
• Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required.
• National Provider Identifier upon hire required.
