About the position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Consultant at Arootah will provide expert consulting services to Hedge Funds and Family Offices, leveraging extensive experience in technology infrastructure and operations. The role focuses on advising clients on technology needs, developing actionable plans, and ensuring best practices in technology management and cybersecurity. The consultant will work closely with clients to optimize their technology strategies and drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to clients on their technology needs.
• Develop realistic and effective monthly action plans for clients.
• Identify internal and contextual roadblocks for clients.
• Break apart goals into actionable steps and devise plans of action.
• Provide clients with resources for implementing their action plans.
• Implement policies, procedures, and control measures for clients.
• Review, analyze, and report on client tools and resources to ensure industry best practices.
• Evaluate clients' advancement toward goal actualization through KPIs and scoring matrices.
• Maintain and share detailed records of consulting results, including challenges and breakthroughs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of proven experience as a CTO at a hedge fund, investment management firm, or family office.
• Expertise in cybersecurity and software development.
• Experience building and leading software development teams across geographies.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Experience developing and managing budgets effectively.
• Knowledge of all functions and roles within IT and technology departments.

Nice-to-haves

• MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
• Experience with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for technology compliance.
