About the position

Arootah is seeking experienced Data Scientists to join their consulting team, focusing on providing expert advice to Hedge Funds and Family Offices. The role involves developing data infrastructure, tools, and analyses to enhance the investment process, leveraging extensive experience in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct best practice reviews.
• Develop realistic and effective action plans.
• Break down goals into actionable steps.
• Advise on vendor selection and oversight.
• Create and implement policies, procedures, and control measures.
• Evaluate client progress towards goals using KPIs and scoring matrices.
• Manage special projects or other areas of need.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist at a Hedge Fund, Investment Management firm, or Family Office.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, as well as data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or QlikView.
• Hands-on expertise in emerging data science techniques and technologies, including Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts and investment vehicles.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics).
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark and cloud computing platforms.
