About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at NYSTEC plays a crucial role in the Change Management and Learning Development practice area. This position involves analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative learning solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness. The specialist will work collaboratively with change management specialists and project managers to create impactful training programs that align with adult learning principles and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training needs assessments and learning plans using best practices in adult learning theory.
  • Author instructional design materials, such as software simulations, interactive on-demand tutorials, and electronic user guides.
  • Provide quality assessments of instructional design materials to ensure they meet NYSTEC standards for quality.
  • Support the development, delivery, and management of training through stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Facilitate live, virtual training sessions to ensure an interactive and impactful experience for learners.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting the design, development, delivery, and management of effective communications between project teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Microsoft Office suite for designing communications materials.
  • Experience providing learning management system administrative support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in instructional design authoring tools, such as Articulate 360.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning principles, and training methods.
  • Familiarity with learning management system administration.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
