About the position

The IDB Group is seeking a Consultant on Strategic Communication for the Social Protection and Health (SPH) Division. This role focuses on enhancing communication strategies related to health sector work, developing and editing content, and organizing communication events. The consultant will lead efforts to position the Division's work regionally and serve as a liaison on health sector issues, ensuring alignment with the Bank's communication strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Division's communications to strategically position the work of the Division at the regional level.
  • Organize the work plan for communicators under the Division, aligning with needs and priorities.
  • Update, execute, and monitor the Division's strategic communication plan.
  • Coordinate the technical work of team members, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Support communication efforts of various health initiatives and networks.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Communications Division and Social Sector Management for effective communication actions.
  • Organize in-person, hybrid, or virtual events according to corporate guidelines.
  • Analyze and track the impact of SPH knowledge products.
  • Design and execute communication campaigns and monitor their implementation.
  • Lead the editorial committee of the 'Gente Saludable' blog, managing content and approvals.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities for content generation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate media presence for specialists and manage press-related communications.
  • Ensure quality control of all dissemination materials, both digital and printed.
  • Update and monitor IDB web pages related to Health and other relevant topics.
  • Coordinate graphic design, layout, editing, and evaluation of knowledge products.
  • Support in developing priority presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Schedule and publish social media content for the Division Chief.
  • Assist in managing translation, design, and publication editing contracts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Communication Sciences or relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in strategic communication.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written; knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
