About the position

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant at ECG, you will play a vital role in transforming healthcare by providing tailored solutions to clients. This position emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and the opportunity to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector. You will work within a diverse consulting team, gaining experience across various projects and divisions, while contributing to the improvement of healthcare accessibility and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing, synthesizing, and interpreting data to inform client recommendations.
  • Using financial modeling to conduct in-depth analyses and recommend executable strategies.
  • Conducting stakeholder interviews.
  • Leading information-gathering efforts.
  • Assisting in developing and managing work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Defining project analyses and deliverables.
  • Communicating project progress and seeking input.
  • Developing depth of technical expertise.
  • Identifying follow-on opportunities and helping scope and close such engagements.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of recommended solutions.
  • Working closely with multiple project teams and ECG senior consulting leaders.
  • Taking responsibility for project outcomes.
  • Communicating effectively with management and executive-level client staff.
  • Learning about ECG's breadth of solutions and identifying those that reflect personal and professional interests.
  • Participating in peer and junior staff knowledge development and career advancement.
  • Demonstrating the ability to excel at consulting while balancing work and personal life.
  • Acting as an ECG ambassador within personal, professional, and alumni networks.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a healthcare-related field with a focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and logic.
  • Master's degree in business administration and/or in a health-related field required.
  • 1+ years of applicable experience for consultant level; 3+ years of progressive experience in healthcare consulting and/or hospital administration/operations for senior consultant level.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Adequate knowledge of advanced analytics or coding tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL); experience with modern visualization tools preferred (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker).
  • Proven track record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Track record of strong client service.
  • Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time, with flexibility to meet client needs.
