About the position

Are you a doctoral-level school psychologist interested in expanding your role to apply your expertise across practice domains? The Devereux Center for Effective Schools (CES) is seeking a full-time, license-eligible school psychologist who can serve as a consultant, researcher, and trainer for child-serving organizations in southeastern Pennsylvania. Our CES licensed psychologist will provide supervision for doctoral-level school psychologists who are seeking a postdoctoral fellowship in order to obtain a license to practice psychology in Pennsylvania. The CES, a nationally recognized not-for-profit research and training organization, is committed to addressing the needs of children with and at-risk for developing emotional and behavioral disorders. The work of the CES focuses on establishing multi-tiered frameworks for prevention and intervention to enhance behavioral and academic supports at the district, school, classroom, and individual student levels. This mission is accomplished through training, consultation, model program development, and applied research.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with districts and schools to improve school climate and student behavior
  • Develop and implement training programs to promote evidence-based intervention
  • Participate in the design and implementation of applied research
  • Lead existing projects by supporting their implementation and by mentoring project teams
  • Disseminate professional work, including presenting at conferences and writing journal articles
  • Design and train others in the use of tools and procedures for data collection and analysis to inform school-based practices
  • Generate funding by writing responses to requests for funded proposals (RFPs) and grant applications to federal, state and/or private (foundation) funding sources
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to CES staff

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in school psychology or clinical psychology
  • Psychology licensure or eligibility for psychology licensure (required)
  • Experience in school settings
  • Ability to oversee research/demonstration projects
  • Training in applied behavior analysis
  • Excellent writing skills and record of publication and/or local or national presentations
  • Strong communication and time management skills

Nice-to-haves

  • BCBA or BCBA-eligible (recommended)
