This individual serves as the primary point of contact for the development team, engaging with business partners across various levels, from technical staff to executive leadership, to align IT capabilities with business needs. In this role, the Consulting Application Engineer will engage in strategic enterprise planning, ensuring that IT software capabilities, policies, and standards are in sync with the evolving business landscape. The engineer will take a lead role in development teams, providing guidance on software architecture and design decisions while also mentoring junior developers. This position requires direct collaboration with business partners to design and implement software solutions that effectively address business challenges. The responsibilities extend to managing large IT and business initiatives, leading evaluations, negotiations, and RFPs for software development in accordance with IT&S guidelines. The engineer will also be involved in hands-on development, adhering to HCA standards and procedures, and maintaining code and version control through tools like GitHub. The role encompasses managing development projects from inception through to implementation, utilizing a variety of technologies including Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and frameworks like Angular and React. Additionally, the engineer will conduct unit testing and participate in peer code reviews, providing advanced troubleshooting support to other development teams.
