About the position

The Consulting Engineer (Data Center/Route Switch) will be responsible for designing, architecting, and supporting critical networks within a large global enterprise. This role requires providing technical expertise, resolving complex technical problems, and translating business requirements into effective solution designs. The position involves significant client interaction and requires a strong understanding of data center networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and escalation support in documenting and resolving technical problems found in products and solutions.
• Solve extremely complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation and innovative troubleshooting.
• Translate business requirements into solution design.
• Engage with clients, requiring 3-4 days onsite.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with Data Center or Route Switch technical domains.
• Advanced understanding of software programming, automation, orchestration, virtualization, and/or security.
• Experience with vPC, fabricpath, STP, Data Center Layer 2 technologies such as VXLAN, OTV, EVPN.
• Knowledge of Routing Protocols and features including OSPF, ISIS, MBGP, IBGP, PBR, BFD.
• Understanding of Data Center Networking technologies like NEXUS and UCS.
• Advanced knowledge of IP Routing, Internetworking, MPLS, LAN Switching, Multicast, Route Redistribution.
• Familiarity with networking management protocols such as PTP, NTP, DNS, DHCP.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent 8+ years of related experience.
• CISSP, Security + or equivalent certification required.
