About the position

This director position is responsible for managing business operations and resources of a project portfolio defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area, or region. The role includes overseeing people management, project oversight, and sales enablement, ensuring the fulfillment of business goals, budget adherence, and project profitability while maintaining quality and customer referenceability. The director develops strategies and plans to implement operational policies and achieve portfolio performance aligned with strategic objectives, manages solutions and pricing for proposals, and supports the sales process. This position typically manages multiple project/program managers and may serve as an advisor or project sponsor for moderately complex engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage business operations and resources of a project portfolio.
  • Oversee people management and project oversight.
  • Ensure fulfillment of business goals and budget adherence.
  • Maintain project profitability and quality of delivery.
  • Develop strategies and plans for operational policies.
  • Manage solutions and pricing for proposals.
  • Support the sales process and manage a significant revenue stream.
  • Serve as advisor or project sponsor for complex engagements.

Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of project or direct line management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects of increasing complexity.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills for internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
  • Product, technology, or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Selling skills preferred.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with poly preferred.
  • Relevant practical P&L experience in the IT vendor community.
