About the position
Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consulting, Senior Solution Specialist in Gilbert, Arizona and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally. The role involves driving the database administration team in deployments of coding, cloning, refreshing, patching, backups, restore etc. of multiple middleware components. The candidate will work across all phases of the Agile and Waterfall lifecycle for the design, development, testing and implementation of Extract Transform Load (ETL), Analytical and Business reports, and Data Warehouse solutions for enterprise-level clients. Responsibilities include translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical Data Models, focusing on issues such as reducing redundancy of data and improving data movement between systems. The role also requires coordinating Technical Peer Reviews with Subject Matter Authorities and Stakeholder communities, conducting data risk assessments, and maintaining system security by implementing security standards. The position allows for telecommuting and requires 15% travel nationally.
Responsibilities
- Drive database administration team in deployments of coding, cloning, refreshing, patching, backups, restore etc. of multiple middleware components.
- Work across all phases of the Agile and Waterfall lifecycle for the design, development, testing and implementation of ETL, Analytical and Business reports, and Data Warehouse solutions.
- Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical Data Models.
- Focus on reducing redundancy of data and improving data movement between systems.
- Coordinate and hold Technical Peer Reviews with Subject Matter Authorities and Stakeholder communities.
- Conduct data risk assessments, data mappings, and lifecycle; build data governance models.
- Maintain system security by implementing security standards, including IAM, encryption, and multi-factor authentication.
- Design and develop data validation processes; perform data analysis and profiling to identify data gaps.
- Conduct workshops with business to analyze existing landscape and understand existing source systems, business processes, and data flow jobs.
- Ensure design reflects appropriate business rules and facilitates data integration, data conformity, and data integrity.
- Ensure data structures are designed for flexibility to support future business needs and enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field.
- 2 years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
- Experience in maintaining instances, maintaining file systems, and taking appropriate backups for security and consistency.
- Experience in database level user management utilizing SQL Developer or Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Experience in performance tuning of batch queries using TKPROF, Oracle SQL Plan, SQL Profiles, Patches sqlt and sqltrpt.
- Experience in driving technical aspects of project delivery, including program and database testing.
- Experience in research and analysis, and consulting with end-users and functional teams for developing technical specifications.
- Experience in delivering management reporting solutions to clients using Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
