About the position

Huntington's Consumer and Regional Bank organization is seeking a Portfolio Risk Specialist - Senior to join its Segment Risk Team supporting the first line of defense Credit. In this role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring assigned complex portfolios for purposes of credit quality, risk management, and portfolio analysis. This will include using portfolio analytics to help identify areas of concern and emerging opportunities within the Consumer and Regional Banking loan portfolios. The ideal candidate for this role will have a foundation of credit and strong data management skills, as well as being a good collaborator and communicator. The Portfolio Risk Specialist will identify credit quality issues, potential portfolio risks, and/or economic risk. They will develop Credit Risk Management analysis to identify emerging opportunities and areas of concern in the Consumer and Regional Banking loan portfolios. Ensuring alignment with established Risk Appetites and Credit Policies is crucial. The specialist will partner with first- and second-line credit and risk leaders by utilizing analytics to manage critical risks and trends in the loan portfolios. They will serve as the Credit Risk subject matter expert within Segment Risk, including credit risk analysis on risk assessments and new product development initiatives. Monitoring the portfolio for compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements is a key responsibility. The specialist will evaluate and report on portfolio performance and forecast future performance trends. They will inform management of potential credit and/or economic portfolio risk and recommend strategies to minimize the risk. Additionally, the role involves assisting with the management of credit findings and remediation plans related to control tests, breached metrics, or other issues. The specialist will work with various bank personnel in developing strategies that support portfolio objectives and foster a risk awareness culture in the business segment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 7+ years of portfolio risk management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skill utilizing data management/analytics software and Microsoft Excel data management techniques working with large databases.
