About the position

The Senior Risk Manager at Huntington's Consumer and Regional Bank is responsible for overseeing and administering operational and regulatory risk strategy programs for a significant business segment or region. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of controls, ensuring compliance with corporate risk management requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to support strategic goals while managing a team of Operational Risk Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate effectiveness of controls.
  • Direct self-monitoring and testing activities to ensure compliance with Corporate Risk Management requirements.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of enterprise and regulatory controls and resulting risk and control self-assessments.
  • Deliver timely escalation of all issues requiring attention to senior management.
  • Work with business segment management to ensure the overall risk function supports strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with audit/business segment/corporate risk to address issues with action plans and target dates.
  • Act as the central point for receipt and distribution of important risk information for the business segment.
  • Ensure business segment adheres to corporate and business unit policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about credit risk associated with the assigned business segment.
  • Manage multiple Operational Risk Specialists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of segment-specific or risk-related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk Management, or Operational Risk within Consumer or Business Banking.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Risk certification (CISSP, CISA, or CRISC).
