About the position
The Litigation Senior Specialist at KeyBank is responsible for managing a portfolio of consumer accounts involved in various stages of litigation. This role requires a thorough understanding of the litigation process, the ability to review and interpret legal documents, and the capacity to make informed recommendations regarding account management. The position is hybrid, allowing for remote work after initial training, and involves significant interaction with management, clients, and attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage assigned portfolio of consumer accounts in litigation.
- Review and understand litigation documents and pleadings filed in state court.
- Update account status and routing in KeyBank's internal systems related to litigation.
- Make sound recommendations based on litigation filings and consult with outside attorneys.
- Participate in meetings with management regarding processes or issues on accounts.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and provide constructive solutions.
- Respond to emails and inquiries with sound legal responses.
- Assist in managing projects supporting KeyBank's internal initiatives.
- Prepare documentation related to litigation accounts and their statuses.
- Maintain and review invoicing to ensure accuracy and update systems accordingly.
- Refer accounts to vendor attorneys and address their inquiries.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certification preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in litigation, probate and estate planning, bankruptcy legal support, mortgage servicing, or loss mitigation preferred.
- Strong PC skills with digital literacy in Office365, Excel, and Adobe.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
- Availability to work overtime when necessary, including possible weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- PACER/CM-ECF navigation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of KeyBank internal systems: CACS, CAS, ALS, CLS, MSP, Hogan, TSYS, Tymetrix, and/or ASF is a plus.
