About the position

The Consumer Loan Officer II at Valley Strong Credit Union is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Members and potential Members through the offering of consumer loan products. This role involves a consultative approach to identify financial solutions that meet the needs of Members, ensuring a high level of service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process new loan requests in a high-volume environment.
• Conduct inbound and outbound calls to Members and potential Members to offer products and services.
• Make loan decision recommendations based on analysis of loan applications and credit data.
• Communicate loan decisions and terms clearly to applicants.
• Provide counseling to Members on improving their credit for future applications when appropriate.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documents necessary for funding consumer loans.
• Utilize consultative sales techniques to offer a variety of products and services that meet borrowers' financial needs.

Requirements

• 1-3 years' experience in a retail banking or sales environment.
• Ability to pass various background checks, including California criminal background check.
• Experience with personal computers and basic software applications.
• Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations.
