Our Consumer Lending Department is dedicated to providing confidential, professional, courteous, and personalized service to our members. The motto of our credit union, 'People Helping People,' is not merely a slogan but a principle we practice daily. We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Consumer Loan Officer to join our team of lenders who are committed to improving the lives of our members and the community. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and expanding relationships with our members. You will proficiently explain various loan products, counsel members on the best options for their needs, and provide quotes based on different scenarios. Utilizing account or loan applications, credit bureau reports, and member conversations, you will identify opportunities to refinance loans or bring over additional accounts from other institutions. You will also effectively identify, recommend, and negotiate alternative lending solutions, ensuring that our members receive the best possible service. Your responsibilities will include recognizing and referring members to other teams for additional support, such as financial counseling or mortgage referrals. You will interpret, negotiate, and process conditions set by Underwriting to meet closing and funding timelines. Completing required documentation for borrowers, reviewing loan information for accuracy, and preparing files for closing will be essential tasks. You will also record loan information in the appropriate systems, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations. Additionally, you will explain reasons for loan denials and explore options for members when loans are denied, maintaining effective communication with all Credit Union employees to ensure coordination and the achievement of Credit Union goals.
