About the position

a360 Media is seeking an entry-level, results-oriented, analytical individual to assist with building and monetizing consumer demand across our entire portfolio. This includes our core magazine brands such as Woman's World, Us Weekly, InTouch, First for Woman, National Enquirer, and various Special Interest Publications. The Consumer Marketing Assistant Manager position offers an outstanding opportunity to learn core direct marketing skills while assisting with strategic initiatives and day-to-day marketing activities aimed at driving newsstand sales, acquiring and retaining subscribers, and managing our online storefront. In this role, the individual will assist in planning, executing, and evaluating marketing campaigns for both newsstand and subscriber channels across online and offline platforms. This is a full-time, in-house position that requires a hybrid work model, with an in-office presence required three days a week at our Englewood Cliffs, NJ location. The position is fully benefited and provides a comprehensive introduction to the marketing field within a leading media company. The successful candidate will work closely with the newsstand team to develop and execute marketing programs for core titles and the Special Interest Publications portfolio. Responsibilities will include timeline management, financial tracking, and program implementation. The role also involves direct oversight of magazine print orders in collaboration with third-party vendors, as well as assisting the subscription team with daily marketing activities for all subscriber sources, including direct mail, insert cards, online renewals, billing, and gifts. The candidate will be responsible for testing and implementing new marketing ideas to improve response rates, tracking and analyzing results to evaluate campaign effectiveness, and making recommendations for future programs. Additionally, the individual will update and distribute performance reports to senior management and manage the online magazine store and e-commerce product information platform.

Responsibilities

  • Assist newsstand team in developing and executing marketing programs for core titles and Special Interest Publications.
  • Manage timelines, financial tracking, and program implementation for marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee setting and approving magazine print orders in conjunction with third-party vendors.
  • Assist subscription team with day-to-day marketing activities for all subscriber sources, including direct mail, insert cards, online renewals, billing, and gifts.
  • Test and implement new marketing ideas to improve response rates and track results to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
  • Update and distribute weekly/monthly performance reports to senior management.
  • Own and update campaign and source-specific P&L reporting.
  • Assist with Renewal, Billing, and Insert Card paper stock and printing orders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Editorial, Finance, and Fulfillment) to ensure integration of objectives, strategy, and execution.
  • Manage the online magazine store and e-commerce product information platform.
  • Manage product and relationships for smaller publication partners.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and all other Microsoft applications.
  • Detail-oriented and results-focused with the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with various levels of management.
  • Ability to adapt to and perform in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Internship or 1-2 years of experience in marketing or at a magazine or print publication is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree.
