About the position

At AstraZeneca, we are committed to turning ideas into life-changing medicines, and we are currently seeking an experienced commercial leader to join our Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit as a Consumer Brand Director for a life-changing respiratory product. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for translating scientific insights into innovative consumer strategies that drive brand success. You will play a crucial role in building and implementing the consumer strategy and developing a compelling long-term brand vision that resonates with patients and healthcare providers alike. As a Consumer Marketing Director, you will lead the creation of critical commercial US marketing deliverables. This includes positioning, core creative materials, and messaging that effectively communicate the value of our respiratory product. You will also be involved in patient journey mapping, conducting market research, segmentation, and developing patient activation and support strategies. Your ability to think strategically and communicate effectively will be essential as you collaborate with cross-functional commercial and project teams, senior leaders, and external partners. Your success in this role will depend on your capacity to influence without authority, lead others, and problem-solve in both scientific and commercial contexts. You will be expected to drive Direct-to-Consumer creative campaigns and media strategies, leveraging your analytical and measurement capabilities to assess campaign effectiveness and optimize performance. This role is not just about marketing; it’s about making a meaningful impact on the health of people by ensuring they have access to life-changing medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of critical commercial US marketing deliverables including positioning, core creative materials, and messaging.
  • Conduct patient journey mapping and market research to inform marketing strategies.
  • Develop segmentation strategies and patient activation plans.
  • Implement patient support strategies to enhance the consumer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional commercial and project teams to align on marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leaders and collaboration partners to drive brand vision.
  • Drive Direct-to-Consumer creative campaigns and media strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business focus preferred)
  • Minimum of 7+ years pharmaceutical marketing experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of recent consumer marketing experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven experience in driving Direct-to-Consumer creative campaigns and media strategies
  • Strong analytical and measurement capabilities in consumer marketing
  • Excellent presentation skills and leadership presence
  • Experience in collaboration and influencing without authority
  • Ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams and partners.
