The Consumer Marketing Strategy Director is a pivotal role responsible for building and leading strategic plans aimed at driving subscriber acquisition, increasing engagement, and mitigating churn for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Green Bay Press-Gazette. This position requires a keen understanding of the market dynamics and the ability to collaborate effectively with news teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to implement these plans and communicate results to both news and corporate teams. This role serves as the head of subscription sales and engagement for the two publications, reporting directly to the consumer subscription and revenue team, while also maintaining a strong connection to the local General Manager. The position demands a presence in the Milwaukee office for at least 60% of the time, or as directed by the key manager. The base salary for this role ranges from $105,000 to $120,000, reflecting the importance of the position in driving revenue and engagement. The Director will be responsible for developing strategic plans that include an audience roadmap to enhance revenue, launching marketing programs that support newsroom initiatives, and ensuring that all marketing efforts align with brand guidelines. Additionally, the Director will oversee social media advertising campaigns, manage in-app campaigns, and communicate results to key stakeholders, all while responding to changing market trends and competitive landscapes.
