About the position

The Consumer Product Strategy Manager I for Client Protection Wealth Credit Card at Bank of America is responsible for leading a team that performs strategic analysis to enhance portfolio risk management, profitability, and operational performance. This role involves determining strategic priorities, identifying trends, and maximizing risk versus return for the business unit. The manager will utilize data and analytics to solve complex problems, coach team members, and collaborate with various departments to drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis of financial models, market data, financial data, and portfolio trends to understand product performance and improve portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Support department-wide strategies and portfolio trend analysis, forecasting, and risk/control performance.
  • Lead innovation by identifying and championing large scale initiatives that improve risk management, profitability, and control oversight of risks for the business unit.
  • Identify business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Coach employees on best practices for structuring complex problems, performing analysis, and communicating results and implications.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with peers and counterparts across product, technology, and business control functions.
  • Manage fraud strategy risk for credit card authorization channels, identify trends, and develop segmentation to manage fraud risk responsibly.
  • Ensure effective governance and cadence on progress reviews, communication, and stakeholder updates, enhancing clarity across business processes.
  • Integrate knowledge of end-to-end business processes into program planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Strong technical ability with SAS and SQL.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a track record of breaking down complex problems and developing clear strategies.
  • Experience conducting portfolio analysis and segmentation development.
  • Strong technical acumen to understand data and process flows, especially related to direct decision engine management.
  • Ability to work across functional lines and organizational levels to drive results.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Tableau.
  • Prior experience leading a team of technical analysts.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience in retail banking or transactional analysis and strategy.
  • Prior experience leading fraud or risk management strategy implementation teams.
