About the position

The position involves identifying caller needs, obtaining and verifying relevant information, and routing calls to the appropriate site within or outside of Parkland Health & Hospital System. This role is essential in ensuring effective communication and support for patient care and healthcare administration.

Responsibilities

  • Identify caller's needs and obtain relevant information.
  • Route calls to the appropriate internal or external site.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Solve problems within established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have one year of customer service experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • Ability to type 20 words-per-minute with a maximum of 3 errors.
  • Pass a pre-employment spelling test with a minimum score of 85%.
  • Pass a customer service skills test with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of personal computers and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English via telephone, overhead paging, and in person.
  • Demonstrate a positive demeanor and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a team environment.
