About the position
The Driver - CDL (B) at Republic Services is responsible for the safe operation of a collection truck, ensuring prompt and courteous waste removal services for customers. This role involves adhering to safety standards, conducting vehicle inspections, and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory requirements while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure proper working order.
- Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely service.
- Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and clean up spills as necessary.
- Maintain the vehicle's operational readiness and cleanliness after each trip.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets and vehicle condition reports (VCRs).
- Adhere to productivity standards to ensure efficient customer service.
- Participate in the Company's ReSOP program and follow all safety policies.
Requirements
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver's license with air brakes endorsement.
- Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
