About the position

The Content Academies team is driven by the core belief that every student can learn and that teacher' skills and content knowledge are essential to student success. The team supports Texas districts and schools through the Mathematics Achievement Academies and Texas Reading Academies. By developing and delivering high-quality professional learning, the team builds the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to effectively deliver high-quality instruction in math and reading. The Content Academies Project Manager will coordinate logistics and operations across multiple projects and stakeholders, including agency staff and vendors. This role is responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring the operations and logistics of Mathematics Achievement Academies and Texas Reading Academies. The Project Manager will collaborate with other team members, agency staff, and vendor teams to execute the strategic plan, implementation plan, budget, and metrics necessary to effectively operationalize the content academies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vendors and day-to-day contract deliverables, deadlines, schedules, and scope to ensure workstream deliverables are on time and high quality.
  • Effectively coordinate internal team to ensure staff and leadership effectively use project management processes and tools.
  • Manage workstream charters, metrics, and workplans and support leadership with performance management and project management to monitor progress on outcomes and inform continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in strategy or implementation of large programs and projects.
  • Experience in budgeting, which may include expertise in budgeting, analyzing grant allocations, and managing complex, high-value budgets.
  • Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment.

  • Ability to communicate a complex message in a simplified way verbally, in writing, and by using slide decks.
  • Skill in management of projects toward outcomes, recognizing the need to prototype and iterate along the way.
  • Ability to prioritize work, operate effectively with minimal supervision, take appropriate initiative, and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to innovate within large public agencies by designing and implementing new processes and tools that scale across the agency.
  • Development of effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups including district administrators, teachers, ESC personnel, education experts, and all other relevant stakeholders.
  • Prior experience using project management software and communication tools including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Smartsheet.
