About the position

The Content Adjuster at Seltser and Goldstein Public Adjusters plays a crucial role in representing clients who have suffered casualty losses. This position involves accurately inventorying, pricing, and assessing damages to personal property in homes or businesses. The role requires a combination of fieldwork and office tasks, including collaboration with clients, insurance adjusters, and various service providers to ensure comprehensive and effective claims processing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of loss sites and evaluate damages.
• Inventory, type, and price content claims for all damaged items.
• Explain coverage of loss, assist clients with itemization of damages, emergency repairs, and facilitate all parts of the content claim.
• Communicate and work with vendor services such as contractors, emergency repair, cleaning services, and various replacement services.
• Meet with clients to review ages and identification of items.
• Photograph damaged items and meet with insurance adjusters.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of insurance experience and basic knowledge of replacement cost, depreciation, and actual cash value.
• Working knowledge of claims handling procedures and operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of inventory types and pricing.
• Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage workload while exhibiting good judgment effectively and independently.
• Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills with the ability to work with multi-faceted systems and analytical skills.
• Valid driving license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
