About the position

FloSports is looking to bring on a Content Creator for Varsity TV and FloCheer who is dedicated to our mission of providing cheer and dance fans the coverage they deserve. The ideal candidate lives and breathes cheerleading and dance, knows the Varsity brand inside and out, has professional content creation experience and is able to bring their innovative and impactful story ideas to life through written and video content. Candidates must be passionate about having influence within the School and All Star cheer and dance communities, have a nose for compelling storylines, and understand how to grow your voice as an authority in these communities.

Responsibilities

• Create your own compelling, platform-specific content-video, graphics, and written-that resonates with the target audience and maximizes engagement.
• Work within a team to develop content calendars and program consistent content to keep your audience engaged during the season and in the offseason.
• Spotlight the top athletes and personalities in your sport with interesting stories.
• Travel around the world to create compelling coverage of live events.
• Work with your team in content creation meetings, brainstorming strategies that will grow and engage the community and constantly improve by eliciting and listening to feedback from your audience.
• Handle multiple content projects at once because you're a multi-tasking machine.
• Stay on top of every story and news item unfolding in cheer and dance to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Ensure the content you create is in line with our unique voice and brand guidelines.
• Act as a social media influencer and help find other social media gurus to promote your content.

Requirements

• Authority on cheerleading and dance, with a passion for staying updated on the latest developments.
• Fantastic writing and editing skills, with a strong attention to grammar.
• Ability to prioritize time and manage multiple projects with ease.
• Creative and analytical mindset, with a knack for unique storytelling.
• Strong social media skills, capable of creating engaging content.
• Ability to work well with management and independently.
• Competitive and driven to create and execute new ideas.

Nice-to-haves

• A bachelor's degree from a four-year college in a related field.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to change.
• Knowledge of video editing tools (Final Cut or Premiere Pro).
• Strong writing and/or editing skills + knowledge of AP Style.
• Knowledge of photo and graphics editing tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
