About the position

The Product Designer II at Remitly is responsible for enhancing the lives of immigrants and their families by designing mobile and web products that focus on user needs and language. This role involves evaluating customer journeys, improving information architecture, and ensuring that product content is clear and easy to localize. The designer will collaborate with various teams to shape the customer experience and contribute to new product offerings, all while reflecting Remitly's customer-friendly voice and tone.

Responsibilities

  • Lead content design work for Remitly's diverse, international audience.
  • Develop product flows and messaging frameworks.
  • Craft clear, engaging in-product content that simplifies complex financial concepts.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, Brand, Marketing, and Engineering teams to create a cohesive customer experience.
  • Use data, user research, and Voice of Customer feedback to inform content design decisions.
  • Partner with product managers and product designers on A/B experimentation to uncover content insights.
  • Contribute to Remitly's design and content systems and advocate for accessibility.
  • Work with compliance and legal teams to ensure content integrity.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of content design or relevant UX writing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, user experience, human-computer interaction, or equivalent experience.
  • A UX content design portfolio that includes end-to-end customer journeys and user interface copy.
  • Experience designing and shipping end-to-end products with complex flows.
  • Familiarity with design tools, especially Figma.
  • Experience simplifying and communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with strategic content design tools such as content audits and empathy maps.
  • Experience working with compliance and legal teams during content development.
