About the position

The Content Designer role at Cisco Networking focuses on creating innovative conversational and natural language interaction frameworks. This position is integral to shaping multimodal conversation design across various customer touchpoints, collaborating with research, product, engineering, and marketing teams. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to communicate effectively, enhance product capabilities, and deliver customer value through unique insights and time savings.

Responsibilities

  • Design multimodal conversational experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with business objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Work across platform and organizations to ensure consistent language across customer touchpoints.
  • Lead the development of content plans in conjunction with product roadmaps.
  • Contribute to the team's understanding of products and user behavior from a narrative perspective.
  • Advocate for the Cisco Networking & Meraki brand, voice, and tone across products in partnership with Marketing and Brand teams.
  • Write and edit copy through strategic planning to delivery of day-to-day deliverables, including creative briefs, copydecks, and content audits.
  • Partner closely with designers and researchers to ensure a usable, easily understandable digital product.
  • Continuously experiment and gather insights to refine conversation design and improve user experience.
  • Earn trust with cross-functional partners by collaborating regularly and inviting them into research and co-creation.
  • Advocate for prioritization of design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.
  • Influence the strategic vision and design of large, complex initiatives for products or programs.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into clear customer-focused solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to inform conversation design decisions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in conversation design, content design, UX content strategy, or UX writing in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in designing conversational interfaces for chatbots, agents, copilots, or voice assistants.
  • Familiarity with LLMs and their applications.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to apply content design across a large ecosystem.
  • Experience in the creation, rollout, and adoption of modular content systems focused on personalization and segmentation needs.
  • Ability to develop and present narratives, create strong partnerships, and build support for the team.
  • Knowledge of the networking domain or experience in a related product or field is a plus.
  • Experience working on technically complex B2B enterprise or B2C products.
  • Proven track record of shipping large scale products.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture while perfecting nuanced details.
  • Balanced strategic research and discovery with frequent shipping.
  • Persuasive storytelling and strong communication skills.
