About the position

The User Experience (UX) Content Designer at TikTok plays a crucial role in enhancing the usability of the TikTok platform by creating clear and engaging content strategies. This position involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that product features are intuitive and user-friendly, advocating for users through design thinking and data analysis, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The UX Content Designer will write and edit UI text, conduct content audits, and contribute to content standards, all while balancing business requirements with customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Create content strategies to write, proofread, and edit high-quality UI text for product navigation.
  • Lead content audits to identify opportunities and drive consistency across the product.
  • Contribute to content standards and champion best practices.
  • Manage and prioritize projects with multiple stakeholders across different time zones.
  • Critique the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define a cohesive narrative across the product.
  • Synthesize internal and external feedback to improve content clarity and quality.
  • Work closely with the Localization team to review and edit English translations.
  • Complete high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of experience writing UI/UX text as a Content Designer, UX Writer, Product Writer, Content Strategist, or Technical Writer.
  • Strong writing and communication skills to articulate rationale for content design decisions.
  • Writing portfolio including user interface copy, microcopy, user education, and style guides.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on a global product with international partners in different time zones.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Management, Design, User Research, Marketing, Engineering, Legal, and Localization teams.
  • Experience using Figma and Asana.
  • Experience working on both B2B and B2C product areas.
  • Strong interest in social app products, user and influencer behavior, and associated trends.
