About the position

The Content Designer position at EA SPORTS focuses on developing engaging content for the upcoming EA SPORTS College Football game. This role involves balancing game design elements while implementing live service features to enhance player experience. The designer will work closely with the team Producer and Development Director to ensure the game aligns with the creative vision and maintains high-quality standards throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of Madden NFL and College Football to design player items for Live Service updates.
  • Balance player design based on gameplay needs, data insights, and feedback.
  • Support the game vision set by the Creative Director and Product Owner.
  • Maintain all design aspects of a game-as-service throughout the project life cycle.
  • Create engaging designs and prototypes while upholding EA SPORTS' quality standards.
  • Balance gameplay with considerations for fun, player acquisition, monetization, and engagement.
  • Retain the original IP's core brand values and game experience.
  • Inspire the game team through innovative and creative design.
  • Provide and receive constructive critique with suggestions for improvement.
  • Stay current on industry trends, including new game genres and design methods.

Requirements

  • Intricate knowledge of NFL and College Football, including teams, traditions, and players.
  • Passion for American Football.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Game Design or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in game design or quality assurance, or equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience creating and implementing game concepts using various tools.
  • Experience with programming, scripting, or database manipulation languages (C, C++, C#, LUA, SQL, Python) or ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for sports gaming.
  • Experience troubleshooting problems and finding solutions individually or in a team.
  • Experience with Live Service mechanics and implementation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Similar knowledge of the NFL is desired but not required.
