About the position

The Senior Content Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience through effective content strategies and design. This position requires a deep understanding of digital content development, particularly in the context of online interfaces and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating user-centered content that enhances usability and accessibility across various digital platforms. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, product managers, and developers, to ensure that content aligns with user needs and business goals. The Senior Content Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing content frameworks that are informed by user research and testing, ensuring that all content is not only engaging but also accessible to a diverse audience. In this position, you will be expected to leverage your extensive experience in content design to craft compelling narratives that resonate with users. You will be tasked with writing and editing content for various digital interfaces, ensuring clarity and consistency across all platforms. Your ability to adapt your writing style to suit different audiences and contexts will be crucial. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio that showcases your work in user-centered content design, particularly for desktop and mobile applications. This role is onsite in Raleigh, requiring you to work four days a week in the office, fostering collaboration and communication with your team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement content strategies for digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with UX designers and product teams to create user-centered content.
  • Write and edit content for various digital interfaces, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Conduct user research and testing to inform content decisions.
  • Create and maintain a portfolio showcasing user-centered content design work.
  • Ensure all content adheres to inclusive and accessible design principles.
  • Conceptualize content frameworks that enhance user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent education and related training.
  • 5+ years of online/digital content development and strategy experience.
  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to write successfully for digital interfaces and applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years in content design, UX writing, and/or microcopy focused on web and mobile applications/digital platforms.
  • Financial experience is a plus.
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience with user-centered content design for desktop and mobile applications.
  • A firm understanding of inclusive, accessible design.
