About the position

As a Content Editor for Homes.com, you will play a crucial role in a dynamic editorial team focused on creating engaging stories that showcase the lifestyle and atmosphere of neighborhoods across the country. This position requires strong leadership skills, meticulous editing abilities, and a collaborative spirit to guide a team of writers in producing high-quality content that aligns with the Homes.com brand vision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of writers on their research, reporting, and writing.
  • Edit content to enhance storytelling and ensure consistency with the Homes.com brand voice and style.
  • Identify quality concerns and provide constructive feedback to writers for improvement.
  • Assign work and assist writers in prioritizing and troubleshooting assignments.
  • Set clear production and quality standards and manage the team to meet them.
  • Monitor team productivity and evaluate work for quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Marketing, or Communications from an accredited institution.
  • 5-10 years of professional editing experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a people management role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in real estate or related fields.
  • Familiarity with digital content strategies and SEO best practices.
