About the position

Maryville University is seeking a skilled Content Manager with a specialization in copywriting to join the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications. This role focuses on creating engaging content across various platforms, managing relationships with external vendors, and supporting the university's branding and communication goals.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of content, including website copy, magazine articles, promotional materials, grant proposals, and reports.
  • Manage and coordinate content projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and brand guidelines.
  • Supervise and collaborate with external vendors and freelance writers, maintaining high standards of quality and cohesiveness in all outsourced content.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and use insights to optimize future content strategies and improve engagement.
  • Maintain a consistent tone and style across all communications, reflective of the university's values and the needs of our diverse audience.
  • Work closely with other departments to gather information and craft accurate content that meets their needs and goals.
  • Generate and manage content for social media platforms, aligning with broader communication strategies and engaging directly with audiences.
  • Assist in writing statements and updates during crises that affect the institution, ensuring clear, compassionate, and timely communication to all stakeholders.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of content campaigns using analytics tools to measure engagement levels and the impact of different content types.

Requirements

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience managing external vendors and coordinating with freelance writers.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in content management systems and digital marketing tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
