About the position

The Content Marketing and Community Manager at Matador is responsible for enhancing brand visibility and community engagement through strategic marketing initiatives. This role involves managing social media growth, impactful copywriting, and executing marketing strategies across various consumer touchpoints. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the in-house content team and marketing director to inspire adventure and connect with the community, while also analyzing competition and trends in the digital marketing landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the company's organic social media accounts.
  • Generate engaging content for social media, blogs, packaging, and email communications.
  • Build and nurture a community around the company's brands through partnerships and outreach.
  • Lead the creation of email and SMS content that resonates with the audience.
  • Manage ambassador and influencer programs, including recruitment and contract management.
  • Assist with website updates and promotional brainstorming as needed.
  • Generate marketing reports and support sales needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant marketing experience.
  • Proven experience in social media management and digital marketing.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with email/SMS campaigns and marketing automation tools like Klaviyo.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with website management and paid media strategies.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Shopify or WordPress.
  • Background in the travel or outdoor industry.
