About the position

The Content Marketing Manager at Simply Business will lead the content marketing strategy to enhance brand awareness and drive customer engagement. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create compelling content across multiple channels, including the website, social media, and email. The manager will oversee a team of copywriters, manage the editorial calendar, and ensure that content resonates with small business owners while simplifying complex insurance concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the content strategy, ideation, and execution for Simply Business across key owned channels.
  • Generate awareness and interest in Simply Business through customized content for different audiences.
  • Reimagine content on marketing website assets, collaborating with design and technology teams.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for new content creation and evergreen content refreshes.
  • Manage a team of copywriters, serving as chief editor for all content.
  • Gather competitive and market insights to inform new content opportunities.
  • Translate complex insurance concepts into clear, jargon-free language.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of copywriting and/or content marketing experience in the technology and/or P&C insurance industry or with an agency.
  • Demonstrated success in content strategy development and implementation across multiple channels.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working within a CMS and project management tools such as Monday.com or Trello.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Driven, self-motivated, and self-directed; able to work independently and lead teams.
  • Able to thrive in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the insurance industry or small business segment.
  • Familiarity with content delivery tools and website launches.
