About the position

The Content Marketing Specialist, Editorial is a pivotal role at Tyler Technologies, responsible for crafting compelling content that aligns with the company's editorial calendar. This position involves developing a variety of content types, including blogs, articles, and thought leadership papers, which support both corporate marketing and vertical marketing initiatives. The specialist will leverage key corporate messages and trending themes within the public sector to create engaging content that resonates with target audiences. By adhering to established editorial style guides, the specialist will ensure that all content reflects the brand's voice, style, and tone, while also strategizing around content syndication to maximize reach and impact. In this role, the Content Marketing Specialist will collaborate closely with thought leaders within Tyler and its client base, contributing to the Tyler Blog and fostering editorial opportunities with various associations and media partners. The specialist will be responsible for producing high-quality content that can be utilized across multiple marketing channels, including print, digital, social media, and multimedia platforms. This requires a strong understanding of inbound marketing strategies and the ability to create well-structured content that is optimized for both print and digital formats. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding writing skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. They will be expected to generate creative ideas and demonstrate intellectual curiosity about how governments can leverage technology to solve problems and improve lives. The role also involves editing and proofreading content created by others, ensuring adherence to the AP Style Guide, and repurposing existing content to amplify its reach through various media outlets.

Responsibilities

  • Create content in support of the overall Tyler Technologies editorial calendar
  • Understand and leverage industry themes and implement them throughout our Tyler content
  • Collaborate across corporate and vertical marketing to deliver effective content in support of our marketing and editorial plan to meet the business objectives
  • Adhere to and implement editorial style guides consistent with our brand voice, style, and tone
  • Elevate our thought leaders — internal, external, and clients — to amplify our voice in the market
  • Collaborate with designers and communication professionals to produce high quality content
  • Edit, proofread, and improve content with strong adherence to the AP Style Guide
  • Repurpose content from within Tyler to amplify through associations and other media outlets
  • Create well-written, well-structured content optimized for inbound content marketing strategies for both print and digital channels based on the content marketing strategies
  • Edit content pieces delivered by other content creators

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of demonstrable Content Marketing, writing, or equivalent working experience
  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, or other relevant degree
  • Experience creating content for the web and growing a social audience preferred
  • Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it
  • Ability to analyze and present content and social performance
  • Project management skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results
  • Excellent communication and outstanding writing skills, both short and long form
  • Understanding of basic SEO strategies, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution, and measurement a plus
  • Knowledge of and interest in public sector and the intersection between technology and policy
