About the position

The Content Marketing Specialist at Year Up United will play a crucial role in executing the marketing strategy and enhancing the Year Up United brand through effective content creation and management. Reporting to the Associate Director of Stakeholder Marketing, this position involves collaboration with national and local teams, as well as external contractors, to ensure brand alignment and deliver high-quality marketing materials. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about social justice, with a strong ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage the development of high-quality, on-brand content across various channels and mediums.
  • Understand the intended audience and deliver tailored content.
  • Support and execute integrated campaign strategies.
  • Create project plans and creative briefs; lead status calls.
  • Build marketing toolkits for events such as graduations and high-profile events.
  • Curate statistics, photo/video assets, quotes, and other key information for collateral creation.
  • Perform basic graphic design and collateral creation using InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Identify and advocate for new marketing opportunities and share resources on trends and best practices.
  • Manage routine updates to existing marketing collateral.
  • Handle marketing help requests from internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct brand reviews of assets and provide actionable guidance.
  • Manage marketing assets, including uploading and categorization of materials.
  • Support the creation of processes ensuring brand strength and alignment across the organization.
  • Assist with analytics and measuring the success of marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years' marketing/communications experience, preferably focused on content creation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; copywriting and copyediting experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to translate brand guidelines across various content types.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for visual design.
  • Ability to seek out and absorb information effectively.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively when priorities shift.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Marketo, Drupal, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with asset management systems preferred.
  • Experience with photo and video projects is a plus.
