About the position

CBS News is seeking a full-time personal finance writer for the 'MoneyWatch: Managing Your Money' vertical. This role focuses on creating engaging and informative content about various financial topics, aiming to drive revenue through clicks and conversions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal finance writing and the ability to produce high-quality content quickly while adhering to CBS News standards.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and write multiple daily personal finance stories based on story performance data and the news cycle
• Use data to inform MoneyWatch vertical priorities and adjust content decisions
• Optimize headlines and copy for SEO
• Update and maintain a library of existing articles
• Assist the senior editor and managing editor with content planning and calendar management
• Participate in broader strategic discussions with partners

Requirements

• 3+ years of writing experience, preferably in business, personal finance or affiliate marketing (lead generation)
• Ability to write clean, clear and accurate content on deadline, multiple times daily
• Experienced with interviewing sources for inclusion in articles
• Ability to interpret data and metrics to inform story ideation
• Experienced with affiliate marketing and knowledge of the space
• Business mindset, comfortable using content to generate revenue
