About the position

The Content Optimization Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for maintaining and refining the knowledge management program, optimizing AI-ready content, and mentoring team members. This role involves conducting data analysis, reviewing knowledge base content, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance knowledge creation, ultimately driving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement content optimization opportunities, owning work and driving the work of others based on strategic needs and user feedback.
  • Collaborate with and guide subject matter experts to better content.
  • Drive strategies to ensure content is fit for purpose, including optimizing for AI.
  • Supervise and analyze content quality, communicating findings and highlighting performance, areas for improvement, and value.
  • Develop analysis to advise strategic decisions and demonstrate value.
  • Use process improvement methodologies to drive continuous improvement in knowledge and content management practices, maintaining agility and responsiveness to changing needs.
  • Maintain and enhance the established knowledge management program, ensuring continuity and improvement.
  • Provide ongoing training to collaborators, ensuring proficiency and awareness of updates.
  • Engage with subject matter experts and management to secure support for content strategies, content creation, and program initiatives.
  • Establish relationships and communities that champion a knowledge-sharing environment.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of technical writing, knowledge writing or documentation experience.
  • Experience with instrument or service documentation or any product support for scientific instruments (preferred).
  • Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and delivering results per plan.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of Knowledge Centered Service methodologies.
  • Confident self-starter who can completely own the delivery of high value work products.
  • Ability to deliver results while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with content or knowledge management systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to individuals in terms that can be understood in both technical and everyday terms.
